Servings: 4

Ingredients

Lettuce leaves
4 leaves, crisp and fresh
Hot dog buns
4, preferably new england-style split-top buns
Butter
4 tablespoons, softened
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon, freshly cracked
Salt
1/4 teaspoon, to taste
Fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons, freshly squeezed
Celery
1/2 cup, finely diced
Mayonnaise
1/2 cup, preferably homemade or high-quality
Lobster meat
2 cups, cooked and chopped into bite-sized pieces

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the lobster meat, mayonnaise, diced celery, fresh lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly to ensure the lobster is well-coated.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread the softened butter generously on the inside of each hot dog bun.
  3. Carefully place the buns in the skillet, cut side down, and toast until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  4. Once toasted, lay a lettuce leaf in each bun to create a barrier that keeps the bread from getting soggy.
  5. Evenly divide the lobster mixture among the buns, generously filling them to create a delightful mound.
  6. Serve the lobster roll sandwiches immediately, garnished with extra lemon wedges if desired, and enjoy this classic dish.
