Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.
- While the beef is resting, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing together the lime juice, water, and salt in a small bowl. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
- To serve, place a generous amount of cooked beef on a bed of lettuce leaves on each plate. Garnish with sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and fresh cilantro.
- Serve the Lok Lak with the tangy lime dipping sauce on the side for drizzling or dipping.
- Enjoy your delicious Lok Lak!
Tips
- For extra flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of sesame oil to the marinade.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add thinly sliced green chilies to the garnish.
- Lok Lak can also be served with steamed jasmine rice for a heartier meal.
