Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, carrots, cabbage, onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Lay a lumpia wrapper flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the pork and vegetable mixture onto the center of the wrapper.
  3. Fold the bottom edge of the wrapper over the filling. Then, fold in the sides towards the center. Roll the wrapper tightly, making sure the filling is securely enclosed. Seal the edge of the wrapper with a little water.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  5. Heat the cooking oil in a deep pan or pot over medium heat. Ensure there's enough oil to fully submerge the lumpia.
  6. Carefully place the lumpia in the hot oil, frying them in batches if necessary. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once cooked, remove the lumpia from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve the lumpia hot alongside sweet chili sauce or a tangy vinegar dipping sauce. Enjoy!
