Ingredients

Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Salt
1 teaspoon (to taste)
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon (to taste)
Paprika
1 teaspoon
Cumin
1 teaspoon
Lime juice
2 tablespoons, freshly squeezed
Fresh cilantro
1/4 cup, chopped
Bell pepper
1, diced (any color)
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Onion
1 medium, diced
Tomatoes
2 large, diced
White fish fillets
1 pound, cut into bite-sized pieces
Shrimp
1 pound, peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes along with cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the tomatoes to break down and create a flavorful base.
  4. Add the shrimp and white fish pieces to the skillet. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the seafood is cooked through and opaque.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lime juice and chopped cilantro for a fresh burst of flavor. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine.
  6. Serve the Mariscal hot, warm, or chilled, accompanied by rice or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
