This hearty and comforting classic meatloaf is a staple in American households, bringing families together around the dinner table. Ingredients

Ground beef
2 pounds
Breadcrumbs
1 cup
Onion
1 medium, finely chopped
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Egg
1, beaten
Ketchup
1/2 cup, plus more for the glaze
Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons
Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Brown sugar
2 tablespoons (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, 1/2 cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture into a greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf, smoothing the top.
  4. In a small bowl, prepare the glaze by mixing together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar until well blended.
  5. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
  6. Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes, or until its internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Once baked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute before slicing and serving.
