Traditional Mexican Wedding Coffee

Indulge in the rich, warming flavors of our Traditional Mexican Wedding Coffee. This decadent beverage blends strong, aromatic brewed coffee with luxurious dark chocolate, a hint of cinnamon for a spicy kick, and a splash of tequila to truly celebrate the occasion. Topped with fluffy whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder, this coffee will transport you to the heart of a vibrant Mexican fiesta. Perfect for special occasions or simply when you feel like treating yourself.

Serves 2

Ingredients

Strong brewed coffee
2 cups
Dark chocolate
50 grams, chopped
Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
Tequila
2 shots
Whipped cream
to top
Cocoa powder
for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the brewed coffee over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  2. Add the chopped dark chocolate and cinnamon to the saucepan, stirring continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is well incorporated.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the tequila, mixing well to ensure it's evenly distributed through the coffee.
  4. Pour the Mexican Wedding Coffee into two large, heat-proof mugs.
  5. Generously top each mug with whipped cream, and dust lightly with cocoa powder to finish.
  6. Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy this festive, comforting beverage.

Tips

  • 💡 For an alcohol-free version, simply omit the tequila. The coffee will still be delicious with the chocolate and cinnamon.
  • 💡 You may substitute the dark chocolate with semi-sweet chocolate if you prefer a sweeter coffee.
  • 💡 If you're feeling adventurous, try adding a touch of chili powder for an extra Mexican twist.
