Salt

Black pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
  2. Using a fork, poke several holes in each potato to allow steam to escape during cooking.
  3. Place the potatoes on a microwave-safe plate, ensuring they are spaced apart for even cooking.
  4. Microwave the potatoes on high for 5 minutes.
  5. Carefully flip the potatoes over and microwave for an additional 5 minutes, or until they feel tender when pierced with a fork.
  6. Once cooked, carefully remove the hot potatoes from the microwave and let them cool slightly for safety.
  7. Cut a slit lengthwise in each potato and gently squeeze the ends to create an opening.
  8. Season the insides of the potatoes with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Generously sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the hot potatoes.
  10. Return the potatoes to the microwave and heat for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
