Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour (2 cups)
  • Water (3/4 cup (adjust as necessary))
  • Cabbage (1 cup, finely chopped)
  • Carrots (1 cup, grated)
  • Green onions (1/2 cup, finely chopped)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Ginger (1 tablespoon, minced)
  • Soy sauce (2 tablespoons)
  • Sesame oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1/2 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water, kneading until you have a smooth, pliable dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in another bowl, mix together the chopped cabbage, grated carrots, green onions, minced ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Divide the rested dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.
  4. Spoon a generous amount of the vegetable filling into the center of each dough circle.
  5. Fold the edges of the dough circle over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges firmly to seal the momo completely. Repeat this process with the remaining dough and filling.
  6. Prepare a steamer basket lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Arrange the momos in the basket, leaving space between them.
  7. Steam the momos for about 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is cooked and slightly translucent, and the filling is tender.
  8. Serve the steamed momos hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
