Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped cilantro roots, fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Stir well to create a flavorful marinade.
- Add the thinly sliced pork shoulder to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for a deeper flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring the grates are hot and ready for cooking.
- Thread the marinated pork slices onto skewers, making sure to leave a little space between each piece for even cooking.
- Lightly brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent the pork from sticking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the pork is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside.
- Once cooked, remove the pork skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes to retain their juices.
- Serve the Moo Yang hot, accompanied by lime wedges for squeezing over the skewers.
Tips
- For an extra kick, add some chopped Thai bird chilies to the marinade.
- Serve with a side of sticky rice and a fresh cucumber salad to balance the flavors.
