Morning Glory Fizz

Kickstart your day with the invigorating Morning Glory Fizz, a sparkling beverage with a delightful medley of citrus, a hint of spiciness from ginger, and an effervescent finish. This drink has its roots in the classic 19th century cocktail, the Morning Glory, yet this version is alcohol-free, making it a perfect morning refresher or a mid-day pick-me-up. The warmth of ginger combined with the tanginess of fresh citrus and the coolness of mint leaves will leave your palate refreshed and energized.

Serves 1

Ingredients

Fresh mint leaves
5-6 leaves, for garnish
Ice cubes
1 cup
Sparkling water
1 cup
Ginger syrup
2 tablespoons
Freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Freshly squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker or a tall glass, combine the freshly squeezed orange juice, lemon juice, and ginger syrup.
  2. Stir the mixture well until the ginger syrup is fully incorporated into the citrus juices.
  3. Fill your serving glass with ice cubes, ensuring it's about half full.
  4. Pour the citrus-ginger mixture over the ice cubes in the glass.
  5. Top off the glass with sparkling water, adding a lively effervescence to the drink.
  6. Give the mixture a gentle stir to combine all the flavors.
  7. Garnish the drink with fresh mint leaves, slightly crushed to release their aroma, just before serving.
  8. Enjoy your Morning Glory Fizz immediately to experience the maximum fizz and freshness.

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra kick, you can muddle a slice of jalapeno or serrano pepper in the citrus-ginger mixture before adding it to the glass.
  • 💡 For a homemade ginger syrup, combine equal parts of sugar and water in a saucepan, add a few slices of fresh ginger, and simmer until the sugar is dissolved. Allow it to cool before using.
