Servings: 4

Ingredients

Ground beef
1 pound (450g)
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Provolone cheese
4 slices
Italian cold cuts (such as salami, mortadella, and capicola)
8 ounces (225g), sliced
Muffaletta olive salad
1 cup
Sesame seed buns
4, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper, mixing gently to season evenly. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into patties, creating a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Cook the patties on the preheated grill for approximately 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium, a meat thermometer should read 160°F (71°C).
  4. During the final minute of cooking, place a slice of provolone cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to allow the cheese to melt deliciously.
  5. While the patties are cooking, spread a generous layer of Muffaletta olive salad on the bottom half of each toasted sesame seed bun.
  6. Layer the Italian cold cuts over the olive salad, ensuring a delightful mix of flavors.
  7. Once the patties are cooked to perfection, place them on top of the cold cuts, and finish with the top half of the bun.
  8. Serve the burgers immediately, accompanied by extra Muffaletta olive salad on the side for an added burst of flavor.
