Servings: 8

Ingredients

Roasted barley
1/2 cup
Water
8 cups

Instructions

  1. Rinse the roasted barley under cold running water to remove any dust or impurities.
  2. In a large pot, combine the rinsed barley and 8 cups of water.
  3. Bring the mixture to a vigorous boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow the barley to simmer for approximately 10 minutes. This will help extract the rich flavors and nutrients from the barley.
  5. After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and let the tea cool for a few minutes.
  6. Strain the barley tea into a pitcher or individual glasses using a fine mesh strainer to remove the barley grains.
  7. Serve the tea hot for immediate enjoyment, or allow it to cool to room temperature before refrigerating for a refreshing iced beverage.
