Mushroom and Broccoli Gratin

This creamy and flavorful mushroom and broccoli gratin is the perfect side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Breadcrumbs (1/2 cup)
  • Parmesan cheese (1/2 cup, grated)
  • Milk (1 cup)
  • All (purpose flour - 2 tablespoons)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Butter (2 tablespoons)
  • Mushrooms (8 ounces, sliced)
  • Broccoli (1 head, cut into florets)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Steam the broccoli florets until tender, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the mushrooms and garlic, and cook until the mushrooms are golden brown, about 8 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to coat.
  6. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. In a greased baking dish, layer the steamed broccoli and mushroom mixture.
  10. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top.
  11. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the gratin is golden and bubbly.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
