Ingredients
- Unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup, cold and diced
- Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Brown sugar
- 1/3 cup, packed
- Rolled oats
- 1/2 cup
- All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup
- Granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup
- Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon
- Mangoes
- 2, peeled, pitted, and diced
- Nectarines
- 4, pitted and sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced nectarines, diced mangoes, lemon juice, and granulated sugar. Toss gently to coat the fruits evenly.
- Transfer the fruit mixture to a greased 9x9-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Add the cold diced butter to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, with pea-sized pieces remaining.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit mixture in the baking dish, covering the fruit entirely.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbly and the crumble topping is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. This dish is best enjoyed warm.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of freshly whipped cream, if desired.
Tips
- For added flavor, consider sprinkling some chopped nuts into the crumble mix.
- Feel free to substitute peaches for nectarines for a different twist.
- You can use frozen mangoes and nectarines if fresh ones aren't available; just ensure they are thawed and drained before use.
