Nectarines
3 cups, pitted and chopped
Plums
3 cups, pitted and chopped
Granulated sugar
2 cups
Fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup
Fruit pectin
1 package (1.75 ounces)

Instructions

  1. In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, combine the chopped nectarines, plums, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine.
  2. Place the pot over medium heat and cook, stirring frequently, until the fruits are soft and the sugar has completely dissolved. This should take about 30 minutes.
  3. Add the pectin to the pot, stirring well to ensure it's fully incorporated.
  4. Continue to cook the fruit mixture for an additional 5 minutes, or until the jam has thickened to your liking.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and allow the jam to cool for 10 minutes.
  6. While the jam is cooling, prepare your jars by sterilizing them in boiling water.
  7. Carefully ladle the jam into the sterilized jars, leaving about a 1/4 inch of headspace at the top. Seal the jars tightly.
  8. Allow the jars to cool completely at room temperature before storing them in the refrigerator.

Tips

  • 💡 For a chunkier jam, chop your fruit into larger pieces. For a smoother jam, chop your fruit finer or use a potato masher to break down the fruit as it cooks.
  • 💡 This jam also makes a fantastic gift! Simply add a pretty label and a ribbon for a thoughtful homemade present.
