
Nectarine and Plum Pie
This delicious pie is made with juicy nectarines and plums, wrapped in a flaky crust.
Ingredients
- Turbinado sugar (1 tablespoon (for sprinkling))
- Egg (1, beaten (for egg wash))
- Pie crust (2 store-bought or homemade)
- Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
- Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
- Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
- Cornstarch (2 tablespoons)
- Granulated sugar (1/2 cup)
- Plums (2 cups, sliced)
- Nectarines (4 cups, sliced)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced nectarines, plums, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well to coat the fruit.
- Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess dough.
- Pour the fruit mixture into the pie crust.
- Roll out the second pie crust and cut it into strips or shapes for a lattice or decorative top.
- Place the pie crust strips or shapes on top of the fruit filling, creating a lattice or decorative pattern.
- Brush the top crust with the beaten egg for a shiny finish.
- Sprinkle the turbinado sugar over the top crust.
- Bake the pie for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
