The recipe dates back to the early 1900s when the first popsicles, then called 'Epsicles', were invented by an 11-year-old boy in the United States.

Ingredients

Original recipe serves 6

Water
1/2 cup
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Honey
3 tablespoons
Raspberries
1 cup
Nectarines
2, pitted and chopped

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the chopped nectarines, raspberries, honey, lemon juice, and water.
  2. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined. If you prefer a chunkier texture, blend less.
  3. Pour the fruit mixture into popsicle molds. You can use any shape or size of mold you like.
  4. Carefully insert popsicle sticks into the center of the molds.
  5. Freeze the molds for at least 4 hours, or until the popsicles are completely frozen.
  6. To remove the popsicles from the molds, run them under warm water for a few seconds. Then, gently pull on the stick to release the popsicle.
  7. Serve immediately for a cool, refreshing treat! Store any leftovers in the freezer.

Tips

  • 💡 Feel free to swap out the fruits for others you have on hand. Just keep the total amount the same for best results.
  • 💡 If your fruit is very ripe and sweet, you may want to reduce the amount of honey.
