Ingredients
- Dashi broth
- 4 cups
- Soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons
- Mirin
- 2 tablespoons
- Sugar
- 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon
- Fish cake slices
- 8 oz
- Green onions
- 2, chopped
- Seaweed flakes
- 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the dashi broth to a rapid boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and add the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Stir well until the sugar has dissolved and the flavors meld together.
- Carefully add the fish cake slices to the pot. Allow them to simmer for about 10 minutes, absorbing the delicious broth.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the fish cake slices from the pot and set them aside on a plate.
- Add the chopped green onions and seaweed flakes to the broth. Let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to deepen.
- Return the fish cake slices to the pot and simmer for another 5 minutes to warm them through.
- Before serving, drizzle the sesame oil over the soup for an extra layer of flavor.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional green onions or seaweed flakes if desired, and enjoy!
