Servings: 8
Ingredients
- Puff pastry
- 1 package (about 14 oz), thawed
- Milk
- 4 cups
- Granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup
- Vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon, plus extra for garnish
- Chopped almonds
- 1/2 cup
- Chopped pistachios
- 1/2 cup
- Raisins
- 1/2 cup
- Coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup, unsweetened
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheets onto a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until the mixture reaches a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Once simmering, remove from heat.
- Carefully break the baked puff pastry sheets into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large baking dish.
- Evenly sprinkle the chopped almonds, pistachios, raisins, and coconut flakes over the broken pastry pieces.
- Pour the hot milk mixture over the puff pastry and nuts, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to allow the pastry to absorb some of the milk.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon generously on top for added flavor.
- Place the baking dish back into the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the milk has mostly been absorbed.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm for the best experience.
