Servings: 8

Ingredients

Puff pastry
1 package (about 14 oz), thawed
Milk
4 cups
Granulated sugar
1/2 cup
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon, plus extra for garnish
Chopped almonds
1/2 cup
Chopped pistachios
1/2 cup
Raisins
1/2 cup
Coconut flakes
1/2 cup, unsweetened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheets onto a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until the mixture reaches a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Once simmering, remove from heat.
  4. Carefully break the baked puff pastry sheets into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large baking dish.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the chopped almonds, pistachios, raisins, and coconut flakes over the broken pastry pieces.
  6. Pour the hot milk mixture over the puff pastry and nuts, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to allow the pastry to absorb some of the milk.
  7. Sprinkle ground cinnamon generously on top for added flavor.
  8. Place the baking dish back into the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the milk has mostly been absorbed.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm for the best experience.
