
Onion and Pepper Steak Sandwich
This delicious steak sandwich is loaded with sautéed onions and peppers, topped with melted cheese, and served on a toasted bun.
Ingredients
- Hoagie rolls (2)
- Provolone cheese (4 slices)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Bell pepper (1 large, thinly sliced)
- Onion (1 large, thinly sliced)
- Steak (8 ounces, thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until they are soft and slightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the onions and peppers from the skillet and set aside.
- Season the thinly sliced steak with salt and pepper.
- In the same skillet, cook the steak slices for 2-3 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
- Place the provolone cheese slices on top of the cooked steak slices and allow them to melt.
- Toast the hoagie rolls until lightly golden.
- Assemble the sandwiches by layering the steak with melted cheese, sautéed onions, and peppers on the toasted hoagie rolls.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
