
Onion and Tomato Bruschetta
This delicious bruschetta is made with caramelized onions, fresh tomatoes, and crusty bread.
Ingredients
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Fresh basil (1/4 cup, chopped)
- Balsamic vinegar (1 tablespoon)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Tomatoes (2, diced)
- Red onion (1, thinly sliced)
- Baguette (1)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and crispy.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, caramelized onions, balsamic vinegar, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well to combine all the flavors.
- Top each toasted baguette slice with a spoonful of the tomato and onion mixture.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
