Ingredients

Fresh cranberries
12 ounces
Granulated sugar
1 cup
Water
1/2 cup
Orange juice
1 cup, freshly squeezed
Orange zest
1 tablespoon
Ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
Ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or damaged berries.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, granulated sugar, water, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  5. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool to room temperature. It will thicken further as it cools.
  6. Transfer the sauce to a serving dish and refrigerate until ready to serve.
