Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Brussels sprouts
- 1 pound, trimmed and halved
- Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons
- Orange juice
- 2 tablespoons, freshly squeezed
- Orange zest
- 1 teaspoon
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
- 2 tablespoons, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, maple syrup, orange juice, orange zest, salt, and black pepper until well combined. This sweet and tangy glaze will enhance the natural flavors of the Brussels sprouts.
- On a large baking sheet, arrange the halved Brussels sprouts in a single layer. Drizzle the prepared glaze over the sprouts, and use your hands or a spatula to toss them until they are evenly coated.
- Roast the Brussels sprouts in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are tender and caramelized. Stir them halfway through cooking to ensure they brown evenly.
- If desired, sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts over the sprouts during the last 5 minutes of roasting for an added crunch.
- Once done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. These glazed Brussels sprouts are best served hot as a delicious side dish.
