Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced beef with cornstarch until each piece is evenly coated. This will help create a crispy texture when cooked.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat until shimmering.
- Carefully add the beef strips to the skillet in a single layer. Sear the beef for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and crispy. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and orange zest. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
- Pour in the fresh orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
- Allow the sauce to cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.
- Return the cooked beef slices to the skillet and toss them in the sauce to ensure they are well coated. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the beef is heated through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and orange slices before serving.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
Tips
- For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or some sliced chilies to the sauce.
- You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, add an additional tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with water to the sauce during the simmering step.
