
Orange Blossom
This delightful orange blossom cake is infused with the fragrant essence of orange blossoms and topped with a light orange glaze.
Ingredients
- Fresh orange juice (2 tablespoons)
- Powdered sugar (1 cup)
- Milk (1/2 cup)
- Orange zest (1 tablespoon)
- Orange blossom water (1/4 cup)
- Eggs (2)
- Granulated sugar (1 cup)
- Unsalted butter (1/2 cup, softened)
- Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
- Baking powder (2 teaspoons)
- All (purpose flour - 2 cups)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the orange blossom water and orange zest.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the orange glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and fresh orange juice until smooth.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the cake to a wire rack and drizzle the orange glaze over the top.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before serving.
