Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, custard powder, powdered sugar, salt, baking powder, and cardamom powder. Stir well to ensure even distribution of all dry ingredients.
- Pour the melted ghee into the flour mixture. Using your fingers, mix until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Gradually add milk, a little at a time, kneading the mixture into a soft, smooth dough. The dough should be pliable but not sticky.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Use a cookie cutter to cut out round shapes from the dough.
- Place the cut biscuits on the prepared tray, ensuring they are spaced apart. Optionally, use a fork to create decorative patterns on the surface.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow the biscuits to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Tips
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of saffron to the dough.
- You can substitute melted butter for ghee if desired, but ghee gives a unique flavor and texture.
- These biscuits can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, making them perfect for tea parties or as a thoughtful gift.
