Osmanthus Tea is a delightful infusion cherished for its sweet, floral aroma and soothing properties. Traditionally enjoyed in East Asia, this tea is crafted from the delicate dried petals of the Osmanthus fragrans plant. The infusion captures the essence of blooming osmanthus flowers, creating a fragrant elixir that warms the soul. Whether served hot to relax after a long day or chilled over ice for a refreshing summer sip, Osmanthus Tea is a timeless beverage that connects you to centuries of tea culture.

Servings: 2

Ingredients

Dried osmanthus flowers
2 tablespoons
Hot water
2 cups
Honey or sugar
to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by rinsing the dried osmanthus flowers under cold water to remove any impurities and enhance their flavor.
  2. In a teapot or a heat-resistant glass, place the rinsed osmanthus flowers.
  3. Pour 2 cups of hot water (not boiling) over the flowers.
  4. Cover the teapot or glass with a lid or a cloth to trap the fragrant aromas and let the tea steep for about 15 minutes.
  5. After steeping, strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh strainer to separate the flowers from the liquid.
  6. Add honey or sugar to taste for a touch of sweetness, stirring gently to dissolve.
  7. Enjoy the tea hot for a calming experience, or allow it to cool and serve it over ice, garnished with a few fresh osmanthus flowers or mint leaves for a refreshing twist.
