Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Water (2 tablespoons)
- Cornstarch (1 tablespoon)
- Vegetable oil (2 tablespoons)
- Soy sauce (2 tablespoons)
- Fresh ginger (1 tablespoon, minced)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Bell pepper (1, sliced)
- Carrots (2, peeled and sliced)
- Broccoli (1 cup, cut into florets)
- Chicken breast (1 lb, thinly sliced)
- Oyster sauce (1/4 cup)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, soy sauce, cornstarch, and water. This will create your stir-fry sauce. Set this aside for later.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Make sure the pan is large enough to accommodate all the ingredients without overcrowding.
- Add the thinly sliced chicken breast to the skillet. Stir-fry the chicken until it's cooked through and no longer pink in the middle, which should take about 5 minutes. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
- Using the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry these for about 1 minute until they become fragrant. Be careful not to burn them.
- Add the broccoli, sliced carrots, and bell pepper to the skillet. Continue to stir-fry these for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Pour the oyster sauce mixture you prepared earlier over the chicken and vegetables. Continue to stir-fry for another 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and evenly coat all the ingredients.
- Finally, season the stir-fry with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
- Serve the stir-fry hot. Pair it with steamed jasmine rice or noodles for a complete and satisfying meal.
