Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Parsley, fresh
- 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons, freshly squeezed
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Butter
- 4 tablespoons, unsalted
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon, freshly ground
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Salmon fillets
- 4 (6-ounce) fillets, skin on
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter until it starts to foam.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it becomes fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Carefully flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set it aside on a warm plate.
- In the same skillet, add the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir well, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. This is called deglazing and it adds a depth of flavor to the sauce.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the finely chopped fresh parsley.
- Spoon the rich butter sauce over the cooked salmon fillets, ensuring each piece is generously coated.
- Serve the salmon immediately, garnished with additional fresh parsley if desired. It pairs well with steamed vegetables, a fresh salad, or a side of creamy mashed potatoes.
