2 tablespoons, chopped
Oil
2 tablespoons
Salt
to taste
Garam masala
1 teaspoon
Cumin powder
1 teaspoon
Coriander powder
1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon
Green chili
1, finely chopped
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Ginger
1 inch piece, grated
Tomatoes
2 large, pureed
Onion
1 large, finely chopped
Paneer
200 grams, cubed

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté them until they turn a beautiful golden brown color.
  3. Stir in the grated ginger, minced garlic, and finely chopped green chili. Continue to sauté for another minute, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala to the pan. Stir well to combine these aromatic spices with the onion mixture.
  5. Pour in the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil starts to separate from the masala, indicating that it's well cooked.
  6. Gently stir in the cubed paneer and salt to taste. Be careful not to break the paneer while ensuring it's well coated with the masala.
  7. Cover the pan, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. This helps the paneer to absorb the flavors from the masala.
  8. Finish the dish by garnishing with fresh cilantro. Serve it hot with rice or naan bread for a complete, satisfying meal.

Tips

  • 💡 For a vegan version, replace paneer with tofu.
  • 💡 Make sure not to overcook the paneer, as it can become tough and chewy.
  • 💡 For a richer curry, you can add a dollop of cream just before serving.
