Panna Cotta

Panna cotta is a creamy Italian dessert made with sweetened cream and gelatin.

Ingredients

  • Mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Fresh berries (for garnish)
  • Cold water (2 tablespoons)
  • Gelatin (2 teaspoons)
  • Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
  • Sugar (1/2 cup)
  • Heavy cream (2 cups)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and sugar over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  4. Add the bloomed gelatin mixture to the warm cream mixture and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  5. Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses or ramekins.
  6. Let the panna cotta cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  7. Before serving, garnish with fresh berries and mint leaves.
  8. Enjoy chilled!
