Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a shallow dish, mix together the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- In another shallow dish, beat the egg until fully mixed.
- Dip each chicken tender into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it with the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to ensure the coating sticks.
- Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. You want enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan.
- Once the oil is hot, add the coated chicken tenders to the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully transfer the chicken tenders to the prepared baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven.
- Bake for an additional 12-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F/75°C) and the crust is crispy.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
Tips
- For extra flavor, consider adding Italian herbs, such as oregano or basil, to the breadcrumb mixture.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breading.
- These tenders can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just bake them straight from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
