Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the diced peaches, nectarines, chopped red onion, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, raisins, minced garlic, grated ginger, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The chutney should thicken and the fruits should soften.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the chutney to cool completely at room temperature.
- Once cooled, transfer the chutney to sterilized jars, seal tightly, and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature as a condiment with grilled meats, alongside cheese, or as a delicious topping for sandwiches.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a diced jalapeño.
- Try substituting honey for brown sugar for a different sweetness profile.
- This chutney can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month.
