Ingredients
- Steak or chicken
- 1 lb, sliced thinly
- Crusty bread rolls
- 4 rolls
- Onion
- 1 medium, sliced
- Bell peppers
- 2 (any color), sliced
- Garlic
- 3 cloves, minced
- Paprika
- 1 teaspoon
- Cumin
- 1 teaspoon
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Avocado
- 1, sliced
- Tomato
- 1 large, sliced
- Lettuce
- 1 cup, shredded
- Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup
- Salsa
- 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- In a bowl, season the sliced steak or chicken with cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper, ensuring an even coating.
- Add the seasoned meat to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the meat from the skillet and set aside, keeping it warm.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are tender and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- While the vegetables are cooking, slice the crusty bread rolls in half lengthwise.
- Spread a generous layer of mayonnaise on one side of each bread roll for a creamy contrast.
- Layer the cooked meat on the mayonnaise side of the bread, followed by the sautéed vegetables, avocado slices, tomato slices, and shredded lettuce.
- Top each sandwich with a spoonful of salsa for an extra kick of flavor, then cover with the other half of the bread roll.
