Instructions
- Season the sliced steak with salt and pepper, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the steak slices and cook for about 5 minutes, or until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet and stir to combine with the vegetables. Allow the mixture to heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Preheat your broiler on high. Place a slice of provolone cheese on each hoagie roll and evenly divide the steak and vegetable mixture among the rolls.
- Place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and broil for about 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
- If desired, drizzle with hot sauce for an extra kick before serving.
Tips
- For added depth of flavor, consider marinating the steak in a mixture of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and a splash of vinegar for a few hours before cooking.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese such as cheddar or mozzarella for a different flavor profile.
- Serve with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
