Cooked rice
2 cups
Salt and pepper
to taste
Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons
Cornstarch
1 tablespoon
Oyster sauce
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Fresh ginger
1 tablespoon, minced
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Onion
1 medium, sliced
Bell peppers
2, one red and one green, sliced
Beef sirloin
1 pound, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Whisk until the cornstarch is fully dissolved. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  3. Add the beef slices to the hot oil, stir frying for 2-3 minutes until they are nicely browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, bell peppers, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened but still retain a crunch.
  5. Return the browned beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce mixture, making sure to stir well so that the beef and vegetables are evenly coated.
  6. Continue to stir fry for an additional 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the Pepper Steak Stir Fry hot, over a bed of cooked rice.
