Instructions
- Begin by boiling the peeled and chopped potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash them until smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, and salt. Use your hands to mix and knead the mixture until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour as needed to achieve the right consistency.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a round flatbread, about 1/2 inch thick. Dust with flour to prevent sticking.
- Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat. Brush the surface lightly with melted butter.
- Place the flatbreads in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Adjust the heat as necessary to prevent burning.
- Once cooked, remove the flatbreads from the pan and place them on a plate. Brush the tops with a little more melted butter for added flavor.
- Serve hot, and enjoy them plain or with your favorite spread, such as butter, cheese, or even a dollop of sour cream.
Tips
- For added flavor, consider mixing fresh herbs like dill or chives into the dough.
- You can also experiment with different types of potatoes, such as Yukon Gold or Russet, for varying textures and tastes.
- These flatbreads can be frozen after cooking. Simply reheat in a skillet or toaster oven before serving.
