Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
This classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich is made with thinly sliced steak, sautéed onions, melted cheese, and served on a crusty roll.
Ingredients
- Crusty rolls (2)
- Provolone cheese (4 slices)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Green bell pepper (1, thinly sliced)
- Onion (1 large, thinly sliced)
- Ribeye steak (8 ounces, thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until they are soft and lightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced steak and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return the sautéed onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the cooked steak and mix together.
- Place the provolone cheese slices on top of the steak mixture and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Slice the crusty rolls in half lengthwise and lightly toast them.
- Divide the steak mixture evenly among the toasted rolls, using a spatula to transfer the mixture.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
