Pineapple and Teriyaki Marinade
This Pineapple and Teriyaki Marinade is a delightful fusion of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. Originating from the culinary traditions of Japan, it is perfect for transforming chicken, pork, or beef into a mouthwatering delicacy. The pineapple juice acts as a natural tenderizer, breaking down the proteins in the meat while infusing it with a tropical sweetness. The teriyaki and soy sauce add a savory umami depth, balancing the sweetness and making your meat irresistibly flavorful.
Servings: Enough marinade for 2 lb of meat
Ingredients
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon, freshly grated
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Brown sugar
- 1/4 cup
- Soy sauce
- 1/4 cup
- Teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup
- Pineapple juice
- 1 cup
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Whisk the mixture until the brown sugar is fully dissolved. This is your marinade.
- Pour the marinade over your choice of meat in a dish or zip-top bag, ensuring the meat is fully coated. If using a bag, squeeze out excess air and seal it securely.
- Let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. For optimal flavor, marinating overnight is recommended.
- After marinating, remove the meat and discard the used marinade. Cook the meat as per your recipe. Alternatively, you can boil the leftover marinade until it reduces to a sauce-like consistency and use it as a glaze while cooking the meat.
