Ingredients
- Mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons
- Red onion
- 1, thinly sliced
- Tomato
- 1, sliced
- Lettuce
- 4 leaves
- Burger buns
- 4
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon
- Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Portobello mushrooms
- 4, stems removed
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the Portobello mushrooms in the marinade, gill side down. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
- Place the marinated mushrooms on the grill, gill side down. Grill for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until tender.
- In the meantime, toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until they are lightly toasted.
- To assemble the burgers, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each bun, place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a grilled mushroom, and a few slices of red onion.
