Serves 6

Ingredients

Potatoes
2 pounds, peeled and cubed
Butter
1/4 cup, unsalted
Milk
1/2 cup
Salt
1 teaspoon
Pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon
Chives
2 tablespoons, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot. Fill the pot with enough water to fully cover the potatoes.
  2. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Continue boiling until the potatoes become fork-tender, which should be about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Carefully drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot.
  4. Add the unsalted butter, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the pot with the drained potatoes.
  5. Begin to mash the potatoes using a potato masher for a chunkier texture or an electric mixer for a smoother consistency.
  6. Continue mashing until you achieve a creamy and smooth texture. If the mash seems too thick, add a bit more milk.
  7. Stir in the finely chopped chives, mixing well to evenly distribute them.
  8. Serve the Creamy Garlic & Chive Potato Mash hot as a delightful side dish alongside your favorite main course. Enjoy!

Tips

  • 💡 For a richer flavor, you can substitute half of the milk with cream. For a healthier version, use a low-fat milk or a plant-based milk.
  • 💡 You can add additional spices such as paprika or onion powder for an extra flavor kick.
