Prosciutto Arugula Burger

Elevate your burger game with this gourmet creation that marries the savory, salty notes of prosciutto with the fresh peppery bite of arugula. Topped with a luscious creamy garlic aioli, each bite is a delightful explosion of flavor. This burger is not just a meal; it's an experience that pays homage to the Italian tradition of using quality, simple ingredients to create something extraordinary.

Ingredients

Ground beef
1 pound (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Olive oil
1 tablespoon
Prosciutto
4 slices
Arugula
2 cups, washed and dried
Burger buns
4, toasted
Garlic aioli
1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring it's nice and hot for the perfect sear.
  2. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Grill the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Aim for an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for medium.
  4. While the burgers are grilling, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the prosciutto to the skillet and cook until crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and let it drain on paper towels.
  6. Spread a generous layer of garlic aioli on the bottom halves of the toasted burger buns.
  7. Place a burger patty on each bun, then top with crispy prosciutto and a generous handful of arugula.
  8. Finish the burgers by placing the top half of the bun on each and serve immediately.

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicy kick, add a few slices of jalapeño or a drizzle of hot sauce to your burger.
  • 💡 For a different flavor profile, try using a mix of ground meats, such as beef and pork, for the patties.
  • 💡 You can make your own garlic aioli by blending 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1-2 cloves of minced garlic, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
