Servings: 4

Ingredients

Pizza dough
1 large ball
Tomato sauce
1 cup
Mozzarella cheese
2 cups, shredded
Prosciutto
8 slices
Mushrooms
1 cup, sliced
Fresh basil
1 bunch, chopped
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Salt and pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your preferred thickness. If you like a crispier crust, roll it out thinner.
  3. Carefully transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet or heated pizza stone.
  4. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  6. Arrange the prosciutto slices and mushroom evenly over the cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the prosciutto and mushrooms.
  8. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the toppings, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly. If you prefer a charred crust, you can broil the pizza for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately sprinkle with fresh chopped basil.
  11. Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the cheese to set and makes slicing easier.
