Servings: 2

Ingredients

Water
2 cups
Pu-Erh tea leaves
1 tablespoon (about 5-7 grams)

Instructions

  1. Boil the water to a temperature of 95°C (203°F).
  2. Place the Pu-Erh tea leaves in a teapot or infuser.
  3. Rinse the tea leaves by pouring a small amount of hot water over them and immediately draining this water off. This step, known as 'washing the tea', helps to awaken the flavor and remove any impurities.
  4. Pour the hot water over the rinsed tea leaves, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  5. Steep the tea for 2 to 5 minutes, adjusting the time based on your taste preference: shorter for a milder flavor and longer for a stronger brew.
  6. Strain the tea into your favorite cup, leaving the leaves in the teapot or infuser for a second or third infusion. Pu-Erh tea can be steeped multiple times, with each infusion revealing new layers of flavor.
  7. Enjoy your Pu-Erh tea hot, appreciating its deep aroma and complex taste.
