Servings: 6

Ingredients

Quince
4 large, peeled, cored, and diced
Granulated sugar
1 cup
Water
2 cups
Lemon juice
2 tablespoons
Cinnamon stick
1
Cloves
4 whole

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the diced quince, sugar, water, cinnamon stick, cloves, and lemon juice.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 45-60 minutes, or until the quince is tender and the liquid has thickened into a syrupy consistency.
  4. Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves from the pot, discarding them.
  5. Transfer the quince compote to a serving dish and let it cool to room temperature. The compote will thicken further as it cools.
