This hearty sandwich is a delightful layering of thinly sliced, tender corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and creamy Swiss cheese, all pressed between two slices of fragrant rye bread. Ingredients

Unsalted butter
2 tablespoons
Rye bread
4 slices
Corned beef
8 ounces, thinly sliced
Sauerkraut
1 cup, drained
Swiss cheese
4 slices
Russian dressing
4 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Spread a tablespoon of Russian dressing on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Place a layer of corned beef on two slices of bread, followed by a layer of sauerkraut.
  4. Cover the sauerkraut with two slices of Swiss cheese per sandwich.
  5. Top with the remaining slices of bread, dressing side down.
  6. Spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of each sandwich.
  7. Cook the sandwiches in the preheated skillet or griddle until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Remove the sandwiches from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
