Rhubarb and Pear Crumble

Ingredients
- Unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup, cold and cubed
- Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon
- Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup
- Rolled oats
- 1 cup
- All-purpose flour
- 1 cup
- Granulated sugar
- 1 cup
- Pears
- 2 cups, sliced
- Rhubarb
- 2 cups, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped rhubarb, sliced pears, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Toss well to coat the fruit evenly with the sugar.
- In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. This is your crumble topping.
- Transfer the rhubarb and pear mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and the crumble topping is golden brown.
- Remove the crumble from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- For an extra touch of indulgence, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
