
Rhubarb and Pear Crumble
This delicious rhubarb and pear crumble is the perfect combination of tart rhubarb and sweet pears, topped with a crunchy crumble topping.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter (1/2 cup, cold and cubed)
- Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
- Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
- Brown sugar (1/2 cup)
- Rolled oats (1/2 cup)
- All (purpose flour - 1/2 cup)
- Granulated sugar (1/2 cup)
- Pears (2 cups, peeled and sliced)
- Rhubarb (4 cups, chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped rhubarb, sliced pears, and granulated sugar. Toss to coat the fruit evenly.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour the rhubarb and pear mixture into a baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and the crumble topping is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
