Whole grain bread
4 slices
Roast beef
8 ounces, thinly sliced
Swiss cheese
4 slices
Red onion
1/4 cup, thinly sliced
Tomato
1 large, sliced
Lettuce
1 cup, torn into pieces
Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons
Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard until well combined. This will be your spread.
  2. Spread the mayonnaise-Dijon mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Layer the roast beef evenly over two slices of bread, followed by the Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
  4. Season the layers with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Top with the remaining slices of bread, mustard side down, to complete the sandwich.
  6. Press down gently on the sandwiches to help them hold together.
  7. Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately, or wrap them up for a delicious meal on the go.
