Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. This will form the foundation of your pizza.
- Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Lightly brush the dough with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. This will create a beautiful golden crust.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced bell peppers, zucchini, red onion, mushrooms, and halved cherry tomatoes. Toss them with the remaining olive oil, salt, and pepper to ensure an even coat.
- Spread the seasoned vegetable mixture evenly over the prepared pizza dough. Be sure to leave a small border for the crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the vegetables. The cheese will melt into a luxurious, creamy layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust turns a beautiful golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately sprinkle with the fresh basil. The residual heat will gently wilt the basil, releasing its aromatic oils.
- Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your slice of rustic Italian heaven.
Tips
- For a crispier crust, prebake the pizza dough for 5-7 minutes before adding the toppings.
- Feel free to experiment with different vegetables based on season and personal preference.
- For an added flavor punch, sprinkle some chili flakes or drizzle a bit of truffle oil before serving.
