Ingredients

Original recipe serves 6

Water
2 liters
Rock Sugar
200g
Winter Melon
1kg, peeled and deseeded

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing the winter melon. After peeling and deseeding, cut it into small cubes of about 1 cm each.
  2. In a large pot, combine the cubed winter melon, rock sugar, and water.
  3. Place the pot over high heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, allowing the mixture to simmer gently.
  5. Continue simmering for about 1 hour. During this time, the winter melon will dissolve completely, and the rock sugar will melt, sweetening the tea.
  6. After an hour, strain the mixture to remove any solids, pouring the tea into a pitcher or individual glasses.
  7. You can serve this tea warm, providing a soothing experience, or chill it in the refrigerator and serve over ice for a refreshing summer beverage.

Tips

  • 💡 Make sure to stir occasionally during the simmering process to ensure that the rock sugar doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot.
  • 💡 The sweetness of the tea can be adjusted according to personal preference by adding or reducing the amount of rock sugar.
